The San Martin tourist agency is located on the edge of the old city center of Šmartno, which is not only very easily accessible, but also a wonderful starting point for exploring the surroundings of this area rich with cultural and natural heritage.
The homestead "Pri Martinovi" is located in the hamlet of Zagora in the municipality of Kanal ob Soči, which is 1 km from the main road Nova Gorica-Plave-Bovec. It is 11 km to Nova Gorica and 9 km to Kanal. We offer bed and breakfast accommodation in a pleasant environment and in a renovated building.
We offer 4 double rooms (double/twin bed) and a room with 4 beds.
Each room has its own bathroom, satellite dish and refrigerator.
Breakfast can be served in the dining room, which is furnished in a rustic style. During the summer months, there is a place for a picnic, where you can prepare a delicious lunch on the home's fireplace.
Otherwise, Zagora is a small and peaceful village with 7 houses and 25 inhabitants, better known for the battles of the First World War, where fierce battles took place for the occupation of the village, which at the time had 23 houses. Monuments, caves and trenches of the Italian or Austrian army remind us of this.
The favorable location of the homestead provides you with various starting points for trips on foot, by bicycle, by car or by train. You can go to Sv. Goro, a famous pilgrimage center with a basilica and a museum dedicated to the First World War in the area. The Vodice monument and the Path of Peace, where you can see the interior of the caves, are also nearby.
On St. Gora offers us a wonderful view of the Solkan bridge, Nova Gorica, Sabotin, Goriška Brda, Friuli and the sea.On the northern side, the mighty Julian Alps and the Trnov Plateau flourish.
Our agency offers rental of 60 e-bikes as well as guided bike tours.
